Ridley Scott’s sci-fi epic The Martian has been one of the most critically and commercially successful films of 2015.
Hotly tipped for awards, the Matt Damon-starring film is set for release across China on November 25.
Last night saw the blockbuster premiere in Beijing with stars Chen Shu, Sebastian Stan, Matt Damon and director Ridley Scott all in attendance. Having already secured a global box office of over $429million, the film should see a strong performance in China given that the Chinese space agency feature heavily throughout.
Starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover, The Martian centres on Astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) who is left stranded on Mars when his crew his forced to leave.
In the lead up to the film release the Luke Scott directed viral campaign with 3AM featured faux NASA mission sequences, and a Martian inspired Under Armour spot generating millions of views. You can view the campaign films HERE.
