Films for adidas Originals, Airbnb and Nike are among the nominees in the 2017 Webby Awards.
Honoring the “Best of the Internet,” The Webbys Awards recognize excellence on the web across numerous categories. Over 13,000 entries were submitted for this year’s awards and RSA is honored to be included among the select nominees.
First up: “Your Future Is Not Mine” for adidas Originals, directed by Terence Neale is nominated for Branded Content in the Advertising, Media and PR category. The edgy, dystopian brand film for adidas Originals is meant to encourage the next generation to build their own future. The film came out of creative agency Johannes Leonardo and has racked up a number accolades already, including two Cannes Gold Lions, two AICP Honors, two Silvers at LIA, a Silver SHOTS Award and two Gold Craft awards at the Loeries.

Also nominated in the Advertising, Media and PR category for Video Ad Long Form is Airbnb’s “Live Here” spot directed by Anna & Ewan. Filmed in Paris, Tokyo, New York and Los Angeles, the campaign urges travelers to stray from the typical path of tourism, and actually live in a new city with Airbnb.The work from agency TBWA\Chiat\Day is aimed at younger travelers, or at least those young in spirit.

Nike’s first ever scripted web series, “Margot vs. Lily” is nominated in the Film & Video category for Branded Entertainment. Directed by Hey Wonderful’s Tricia Brock and co-created by our Director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, “Margot vs. Lily” is an eight-part web series that launched with Nike Women’s #BetterForIt campaign. The series serves as “fitspiration” and tells the story of two unlikely sisters who challenge themselves, both physically and mentally, in a well-intentioned and entertaining bet. The success of the series led to a Gold Entertainment Lion at Cannes, a Silver SHOTS Award and over 40 million online views.

The 21st Annual Webby Awards will announce the winners of both the Webby Awards and People’s Voice Awards on April 25th, with the award show to follow in May.
