Breaking Boundaries for a Good Cause

Director Baillie Walsh captures David Beckham stepping out of his comfort zone and “under attack” by 10,000 mosquitoes

Every two minutes a child dies from malaria. As a member of Malaria No More UK’s leadership council, football legend David Beckham says “This is totally unacceptable, especially when we know how to prevent and cure it. That’s why I’m standing with the millions who live with this threat every day.”

To support the initiative, Beckham launched the global campaign, “Malaria Must Die, So Millions Can Live,” tapping RSA director, Baillie Walsh to direct its first promotional spot.

Known for his sumptuous style, dramatic precision and technical craftsmanship, Baillie collaborated with R/GA to create a once-in-a-lifetime situation featuring Beckham in a glass box “under attack” by a swarm of 10,000 mosquitoes.

“I’ve supported the malaria fight for over 15 years,” said Beckham.  “…It’s been exciting to see the progress made to save lives, including millions of young children.”
