Carl Rinsch seems to have mastered the phrase “a picture tells a thousand words,” as his works exhibit the art of communication through a visual perspective almost flawlessly.  Dialogue is infrequent in his commercials, for he utilizes every possible camera angle, every lighting option and every human emotion to create a dark and edgy aura that he can call his own.

At the mere age of 14 years old, Rinsch had his first film shown at both the New York and the Telluride Film Festivals.  As a Los Angeles native, a town not known for its abundance of culture, Rinsch’s creative angle on life stood out among his peers.  In an effort to put his artistic abilities to good use, he decided to attend Brown University in Rhode Island where he studied both Art and English.  While in college, he worked for Rolling Stone Magazine, not as a writer, but naturally as a photojournalist, shooting such talented artists as Sheryl Crow, Devo, Sarah MacLachlan, the Violent Femmes and Chrissie Hynde.

Since becoming a member of the RSA team, Carl has been commissioned by the likes of BMW, Earthlink, Sprite and Sci Fi Channel, to create what resulted in visually stunning commercials. Each commercial is its own story, told by the eye of the camera and the vision of Carl, as they contain practically no spoken word.

Carl’s work has not gone unnoticed by any means.  Among the accolades he has received are the D&AD/Campaign Screen Award for Best New Director and was also fortunate enough to be included in the Saatchi & Saatchi New Director’s Showcase at Cannes.  Rinsch was also featured in Shots New Director Showcase. In addition to his commercial success, Rinsch has currently decided to take on new challenges.  He currently is writing and directing his first feature film, designing a video game and writing a book.  No matter what project he takes on, Rinsch brands himself in an unparalleled manner and continues to engage audiences.
