Adrian started taking pictures at 13 with his Pentax Spotmatic down the Fish Quay of his hometown, North Shields.

A Geordie by birth he now resides in Camden Town where he can be found riding his bicycle relentlessly around Regents Park, in his floating office on a 70ft Narrow boat next to London Zoo or in some corner of the world shooting his latest exploit.

His studies covered the arts ending in a Degree in Graphic Design in which he attained a first in BA Honours. His filmmaking career began during his education on a placement in the working arena of design for television, “For the first time I understood how things move.” He purchased his first movie camera, a Braun Nizo and headed for Guatemala where he made his first short film ‘Pase Adelante’ a ten-minute study of the Maya.

The film was quickly picked up by the BBC and screened on BBC 2 in 1992 and at 26 years of age Adrian was signed to Ridley Scott’s production company in London where he has directed a plethora of international work, his clients include: BMW, Gossard, Speedo, Guinness, Unicef, BBC, UBS, Lee Jeans, Allianz, Renault, Toyota, Credit Suisse, The Times, The Daily Telegraph, the NHS, Qatar, The U.A.E. Armed Forces, Rolex the list goes on.

A physical director first noted for ’an eye’ in his early days Adrian operates on much of his work and is an energetic enthusiast. His work is varied and he adapts to both method, creative and budget with each project as it comes, “If I like the idea, then I will find a way to make it.”  Unicef for example is like ‘coming home’ to him as a director, working with a hand held camera, live subjects and a small budget, whereas he is as comfortable with the grand film mechanics of  U.A.E. Armed Forces or the dynamic action of Speedo, or the nuance of performance in the character driven short story he is shooting this May “Two Broad Arrows”.

“Two Broad Arrows” is a coming of age story about a boy who discovers his potential through the discovery of a bicycle and will be completed in late June.

Adrian has won a Silver Lion at Cannes, has a few pencil drawings from D&AD and a couple of arrows in his office.

In 2000 he started ‘The Fireflies Ride’ from Geneva to Cannes and was one of four pioneering founders that started something that has now raised over £1,000,000 for LEUKA, a charity that is funding ground breaking work into the cure for cancer. He continues to ride every year, 2010 will be his tenth crossing of the Alps.

He is the proud father of three children. His distraction and other passion is flamenco.
