Stuart Rideout joined RSA Films in January 2006 although the road to directing commercials was undertaken whilst growing up in Wales where Stuart began making horror films on a super 8 camera when he was nine years old.

Attending Art College and gaining a degree in graphic design Stuart also won a number of student awards including a Fuji award for best student animation and a D&AD award for graphic design.

On leaving college Stuart started working as assistant to Martin Lambie-Nairn creative director of Lambie-Nairn & Co working primarily on television brand identity designing logos and television brand solutions for clients such as BBC1, BBC2, TV001 TV3, Channel 4 and many others.

Stuart went on to form Mighty a design based production company. Whilst at Mighty Stuart won many awards including International Monitor award for best television corporate identity, D&AD award for best on-screen identity. Promax gold, silver and bronze for his television Ident work and BDA gold award for best programme title sequence as well as a BAFTA and Royal Television Award for his work on The Children’s Channel on-screen identity.

In 2001 Stuart made a number of short films which were included in various festivals and his short film Arachnid won first prize at the Portobello film festival.

Stuart then concentrated more on honing his film making capabilities in conjunction with commercials. The on-going series of spots for Canon cameras have won many accolades.

Stuart was included in Shots Magazine’s Up and Coming Directors and Campaign’s Ones To Watch.

Since joining RSA Films, Stuart has produced award-winning work with many of London’s leading agencies, including BBH, Leagas Delaney, BMP, TBWA and M&C Saatchi. Clients include Sony Playstation, Waitrose, COI, Muller and Canon.
