Russo Brothers

Joe and Anthony Russo made their start writing and directing the feature film Pieces, which debuted at Slamdance in 1997, and later screened at the AFI Film Festival, where Joe won Best Actor.  After seeing Pieces at Slamdance,  Steven Soderbergh offered to produce their next feature, Welcome to Collinwood, with his Section 8 partner George Clooney. 

Welcome to Colinwood, which they again wrote and directed, premiered in 2002 at the Cannes Film Festival, and put the brothers on the map as a pair of original filmmakers. Their latest feature film, You, Me & Dupree, starring Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson, Matt Dillon and Michael Douglas, grossed over $130 million worldwide. They currently have  several feature projects in development.

Anthony and Joe made their move into the television world, directing the pilot for FX’s Lucky.  They went on to direct multiple episodes of Fox’s award-winning cult favorite Arrested Development, in the process winning an Emmy for Best Direction. Next up was ABC’s The Carpoolers, featuring Jerry McConnell, Fred Goss and Faith Ford.

The Russos directed the pilot for NBC's hit comedy 'Community' starring Joel McHale & Chevy Chase and serve as Executive Producers and have directed multiple episodes throughout the first two seasons.  They have recently created a new series 'Happy Endings' for ABC and continue to be the most prolific directors in the comedy realm.
