John O’Hagan was born in Dublin, Ireland. He attended Brown University and New York University. O’Hagan’s directing career began with his feature-length documentary, Wonderland, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and went on to win several Best Documentary awards.
His commercial directing debut, “Arctic Ground Squirrel” for Dial-A-Mattress, earned him a Cannes Gold Lion and a Gold CLIO. He has since gone on to win numerous Cannes Lions, a CLIO Best in Show, and an Emmy nomination. Having directed successful campaigns for a wide range of international clients–Mercedes, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Range Rover, Sprint, Anheuser-Busch—O’Hagan has established himself as one of the top visual-comedy directors. He is probably best known for his award-winning Super Bowl commercial “Cat Herders” for EDS.
O’Hagan currently lives in Prague.
