Swedish House Mafia Leave The World Behind

March 19, 2015
Christian Larson’s Leave The World Behind feature documentary followed EDM sensation Swedish House Mafia on their final tour before calling it quits. The film premiered at SXSW in 2013 and was released in theatres during the fall before becoming available online by Showtime Anytime.

Swedish House Mafia’s final tour sold over one million tickets globally in one week. They launched EDM in a big way and quit while they were on top, and Christian Larson was on hand to document every powerful moment, every fight, and every reconciliation among the now defunct group comprised of Steve Angello, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso as they crossed the globe performing their top hits like “Don’t You Worry Child” for their avid fanbase.

“Forget whatever hang-ups you have about ‘EDM’ – this is a story of an undoubtedly talented musical trio who realised they were riding the wave of a movement and ran with it…One thing’s for sure though, you’ll leave the cinema headed straight for the club. They came, they raved, we loved.” – MTV

The film premiered at SXSW to rave reviews that named the film “beautiful, emotionally striking and often up-lifting.” In October, we celebrated the global launch of the film, opening and selling out theatres from Stockholm to London, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Amsterdam and Sydney. The film was the number one iTunes documentary in 34 countries, with the soundtrack releasing in tandem with the SXSW launch.

Christian Larson previously directed the EDM trio’s video for “One” and documented their “Take One” tour. He has also worked with members of the band, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, in the recent lauded two-part video for “Can’t Hold Us Down” and “On My Way.”

Leave The World Behind was directed by Christian Larson and produced by Black Dog Films/RSA. It is available for purchase on Blu-Ray, DVD and digital download now.
