Ridley Scott Exec Produces AMC’s New Drama, “The Terror”

December 13, 2017

Based on best-selling novel by Dan Simmons, The Terror is a new series from Ridley Scott and AMC, set in 1847, following the Royal Navy’s Arctic quest to discover the Northwest passage. Instead they find a monstrous predator, a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ships in a desperate game of survival, the consequences of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.

Shot in Budapest, Hungary, The Terror is produced by Scott Free Productions, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios. In addition to Kajganich and Hugh, the series is also executive produced by Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady.

The Terror captures a rare combination of fascinating history, complex and flawed characters, the inextinguishable human spirit and the horror and promise of an uncharted world,” executive producers and co-showrunners David Kajganich and Soo Hugh tell Entertainment Weekly. “We are looking forward to bringing viewers into this world in March.”

The 10-episode first season of “The Terror” premieres March 29 on AMC.
