London based filmmaker Toby Dye has directed an acclaimed catalogue of highly distinctive work, recognised with major international awards. He began his career in documentary, but today works with the moving image across multiple genres and formats. A constant innovator, whether creating fiction or non-fiction work, he combines techniques from both disciplines with startlingly original results and a high level of craft.
Notable work includes the music video ‘Paradise Circus’ for Massive Attack, the Grierson Award winning crime documentary ‘Bodysnatchers of New York’, viral short ‘Phobos : an Alien Covenant Story’ conceived with Ridley Scott and starring Michael Fassbender, and his acclaimed film installation ‘The Corridor’ for hit art exhibition ‘Daydreaming with Stanley Kubrick’. His commercial for Heineken, ‘Worlds Apart’, touched a nerve with audiences worldwide, gaining views of over 40 million and global media coverage everywhere from the Washington Post to Good Morning America, Time and The Guardian.
Recognised with over thirty major industry awards for his commercial work, including Cannes Lions, D&AD and the Clios, Toby has helmed campaigns for some of the world’s biggest international brands, including Heineken, Lurpak, Ford, Netflix, Nestle, Sky and American Express.
